Can I see more pictures of Mom and Dad and previous pups?

We have sooo many pictures! Find them at https://tinyurl.com/trgalbum or in the “Our Puppies” section of this website.

Where are you located?

Puppy pick-up is located in South Hadley, MA.

We are originally from Western Massachusetts but now live in a small farm in the Louisville, Kentucky area. Due to continued and overwhelming demand, the majority of pups from every one of our litters since we moved (4 years ago) has gone to New England, so we now offer delivery for free! Puppies are transported by us in our van. Puppies will arrive in Massachusetts on a Friday evening (usually the Friday right after they turn 8-weeks-old), and will be available for pick-up on Saturday.

Do you offer a health guarantee?

We provide a 1-year health guarantee against genetic defects, including those of the hips, eyes, elbows, and heart. Puppies are guaranteed to be in good health upon their arrival to your home. We do not send home sick puppies, so if there are any issues that come up (very rarely does this happen), we will delay sending the affected pup to their new home until cessation of illness symptoms.

How do I get on your waitlist?

To get on the waitlist we require the potential adopter to submit an interest form. This can be found at https://tinyurl.com/TRGform. After submitting the form, please alert us and we will review it. We review interest forms to determine if you are a good fit for one of our pups, and if we have availability based on your preferences. If both are good, you are then welcome to put down a deposit, which will hold your spot and go towards the overall purchase price. The deposit info can be found at the end of this document. Please do not send a deposit without our final confirmation after reviewing your interest form families, deposits are non-refundable. If circumstances arise where you cannot take the puppy that you committed to, you are welcome to roll your deposit onto a future litter.

Are the parents of your litters health tested?

The parents of our litters are DNA tested. Health tests include screening for 210+ genetic mutations including the risk factors most relevant to golden retrievers. We only breed dogs that are genetically clear (or non-affected carriers).

24-hour Puppy Cam and Updates
From birth until the time that they leave for their new homes, the puppies have multiple cameras on them at all times. Adopters will be given access to these cameras via email invite. Each puppy will have a unique collar color so that they can be easily identified and help owners choose their favorites. Owners in the past have LOVED to watch them grow. It truly personalizes the experience! In addition to this, we try to accommodate all requests for close-ups and personality notes. Goldens are our passion and we want to make sure you get the perfect pup for you and your family! Puppy Care
All puppies are raised inside of our home (not in a barn or kennel). We stay with them around the clock the first 4-weeks to ensure safety, warmth, and access to Mom.

Primary vaccines and exams.
At 6 weeks of age, each puppy is individually given a full physical exam by a licensed veterinarian. They are examined from
nose to tail, and lungs and heartbeat are checked. At this time, puppies are eligible for and receive the DHLPP vaccine set (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvovirus, and parainfluenza). Their second set of vaccines should be given at 10-12 weeks of age by their new owner’s veterinarian.

Puppies are de-wormed 4 times by us, in 2 week increments. A recommended de-worming schedule for the puppy’s new home will be provided in the puppy’s going-home folder.

Socialization and Puppy-Culture Raised
Each puppy is exposed to human touch, stimulation, and new things on a daily basis. A “puppy jungle gym” is installed in their pen at 3-4 weeks and we continually add new things for them to interact with. Puppies raised in this way are proven to have stronger cardiovascular performance, stronger immune systems, and the effects on their personality and temperaments are immeasurable. The first 8 weeks is what determines your dog’s entire worldview, and we try our best to do it the right way. We aim to put out puppies that are more stable, less fearful, better retention, and coping skills to recover from unfamiliar situations. Emotional response, memory, and learning ability are all so valuable to their future life with you!

Private Facebook Group
All adopters from a litter are given access to a private Facebook group where they can share pictures, correspond about training and growth, and arrange meetups. Only adopters from your specific litter will be allowed to join. Our adopters in the past have loved the ability to stay in contact with all of their pups littermates.

Support
Our pups are like family to us. We started breeding with the grandfather of our litters, Opie, who we adopted in 2012. We have many dogs from his bloodline, and love to keep in touch with others. The pups really are like family because they are connected to Opie and all of his relatives. We are always here for support if you need any tips on training, behavior issues, puppy/dog care recommendations, etc. In the unlikely event that you can’t keep your dog, we will always take them back and/or arrange for rehoming. Our pups mean the world to us!

Can I visit?

Yes. We would love to have you. Scout, Shelby, and Opie love visitors! If you are interested in visiting with a litter of pups, we welcome that too. We prefer that visitors come at 6 weeks of age or later (once the puppies are vaccinated) due to parvovirus concerns. At our discretion (we don’t want to stress out Mom!), we will allow people to come earlier if they follow our parvo precautions.

How big do your puppies get?

Our current active breeding female, Scout, is about 70 lbs. The male we use to sire our litters, Roscoe, is about 80 pounds. In general, they usually are about the same as their parents of corresponding gender when they reach adulthood. We have had previous litters with this particular pair and have found this to be the case.

Do you sell pups with breeding rights?

The goal of our breeding program is for our pups to go to pet homes only. We occasionally will offer breeding rights for our males but would need more information on your breeding program and health testing expectations before deciding. We do not offer breeding rights for our females.
