We are a small, family-run, AKC responsible golden retriever breeder
Rooted in Massachusetts and now based in Indiana, with a Massachusetts pick-up option for every litter. Our goldens are our pets first, every parent is health tested, and every puppy is raised inside our home.
Who we are
We have just one or two litters a year, and the health of our breeding females always comes first. We only breed dogs that are good candidates and approved by our vet.
Our goldens live inside our home. Puppies get round-the-clock care for their first weeks while we watch their growth and get them used to human touch and smell. Once their eyes open and they start walking and eating "puppy mush," we introduce them to as many new things as we can: the outdoors when weather allows, toys and play equipment, and their grown-up aunts, uncles and grandparents. We're one big golden family.

Smart, sweet and a serious cuddler. Shelby is a deep, dark red, born in April 2021. She wants to be by your side all the time, and she'll let you know when she's at the door and wants in. She loves to swim too.

Prescott is a giant golden: over 100 pounds, in great shape, with a dark red, long show-style coat. He's big, goofy and eager, he's obsessed with swimming, and he just wants to make you happy. Our next generation. Subi is very smart, very sweet and eager to please, and a total goofball. She's growing up in our program and will join our breeding program in the future.

Remembering Opie · June 1, 2012 – May 13, 2026
AKC: Opie Taylor Bosley
Opie is where all of this began. He joined our family in 2012, and breeders traveled from all over to have him sire their litters, drawn to his red coat and his big blocky head.
We adopted one of his daughters, and that started our breeding program. Today his granddaughter Shelby carries his line forward, and so does every puppy that comes from it.
Opie passed away in May 2026. He was the king of our hearts, and he always will be.

Every one of these goldens came from our litters and now lives with a family we're proud to call part of ours.
What every puppy comes with
Cameras on the litter every day for at least 8 hours, from birth until go-home day. Each puppy wears its own collar color, and we send close-ups and personality notes on request.
A full nose-to-tail exam by a licensed vet at 6 weeks, the DHLPP vaccine, and four rounds of deworming. A schedule for your vet comes in the go-home folder.
Daily handling, new sounds and textures, and a puppy jungle gym from 3–4 weeks, for confident, adaptable dogs.
Puppies grow up inside our home, never in a barn or kennel, with someone on hand around the clock for the first 4 weeks.
A Facebook group just for your litter's families, to share photos, trade training tips and set up meetups.
We're always here for training and care questions. If you ever can't keep your dog, we'll take them back or help rehome them.
FAQ
Submit our interest form, then let us know you've sent it. We review each form to see whether one of our pups is a good fit and whether we have availability for your preferences.
If both line up, you're welcome to place a deposit, which holds your spot and goes toward the purchase price. Please wait for our confirmation before sending a deposit. Deposits are non-refundable, but if something comes up you can roll yours over to a future litter.
Puppies are $3,000. A $300 deposit reserves your puppy and goes toward the purchase price.
We're based in Indiana. Our program started in Massachusetts, and many of our families still come from New England and nearby states, mostly through word-of-mouth referrals from past adopters.
To make things easy, every litter includes a Massachusetts pick-up option. Let us know what works best for you when you reach out.
Yes. Parents are DNA tested for 210+ genetic mutations, including the risk factors most relevant to golden retrievers. We only breed dogs that are genetically clear or non-affected carriers.
Yes, a 1-year guarantee against genetic defects, including hips, eyes, elbows and heart. Puppies are guaranteed healthy on arrival. We never send home a sick puppy; in the rare case one isn't feeling well, we wait until symptoms clear.
Puppies usually grow up close in size to the parent of the same sex. Ask us about the parents of any litter you're interested in.
Yes. We offer stud service with Prescott to health-tested females. Get in touch with your female's health testing results and we'll talk through the details.
We'd love to have you. If you'd like to meet a litter, we ask that visits happen at 6 weeks or later, once the puppies are vaccinated, because of parvovirus risk. Earlier visits are at our discretion and require following our parvo precautions.
Our goal is pet homes. We occasionally offer breeding rights for males after learning about your program and health-testing standards. We don't offer breeding rights for females.

Owner tips
Choosing a golden
Red goldens come from lines bred for waterfowl hunting, so they tend to be more athletic and energetic than lighter goldens. They're wonderful family dogs with enough exercise: plan on at least two 30-minute walks a day off your property. Yard time alone isn't enough.
Two more things: goldens shed year-round, and they make terrible guard dogs. They're far more likely to greet a stranger than scare one off.

Meet the owner
I'm Amelia Fordeck, the owner of Taylor's Red Goldens. Goldens have been my passion ever since I brought home my first one, Opie, right after graduating from college. He started it all, and I've loved everything about the breed since.
If you visit my home, you'll see it right away. There's a golden, or a photo of one, in just about every room.
By profession, I'm a mental health clinician. Breeding is something I do alongside my career, out of love for the breed, so I keep it small: one or two litters a year. That way every puppy gets real attention, and every family gets to know me personally.
